WHY I LOVE STUDYING LANGUAGES

BY ABIR KAYUM

I love studying languages because it’s really important that you learn to speak and understand other people no matter where they are from. Learning a foreign language can help you understand your own language and make it easier to learn from others. You develop 4 key skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. When someone else knows a language that I do not know, it intrigues me and makes me want to learn this language.

In my GCSE's, learning a language(s) will benefit me by bringing me one step closer to passing the whole thing. Next, it will help me when I am applying for a college. After that, it will benefit me when I am applying to go to a university. Finally, when I am applying for a job it will help me all the way through.

Also, learning languages will help you in everyday life. For example: if someone from a different country came to England only knowing their own language, you could help them by using your language skills that you got from learning all sorts of languages. This is how studying languages can be convenient in our lives. This is also the reason why I love studying languages.
